    Ever since watching 'Capote' I have had an interest in reading this book. A true story about the murder of a family in a small town, In Cold Blood takes its readers into the minds of the actual killers in an attempt to shed some light on a seemingly random crime. I can't wait for this one.

  • Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim - David Sedaris
    Having read all of Sedaris's books up until now, this one will probably not surprise me. I look forward to laughing out loud at the awkward yet hilarious encounters that he and his family will go through. I know I am approaching this one with high expectations, but he has yet to let me down.

    So, Oprah tore him a new one for tricking her into tricking America (and others) into believing that this was a true story. That having been said, I have heard from others that it is still a good book that can be ejoyed as fiction. So here we go. Let's see if they are liars too.

  • Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell - Susanna Clarke
    Green cover, black raven....hmmm...I have a sneaking suspicion that there will witchcraft and magic involved. Apparently this book is supposed to be so good that it rivals Tolkien....well according to the 'Time' review on the cover....and once again here we have another book that starts off with three front and back pages of accolades from various sources, ranging from familiar to 'who are you?' status. 846 pages of fun? Let's hope!

    A cell phone laying in a pool of blood next to a "Starbooks" coffee cup.....hmmmm....This is King's latest novel to be released since his "retirement" from writing. I wonder if he is now going to try to start publishing his way back to zero....kind of like Stephen Hawking's theory of the expanding and contracting Universe. Well....let's just read.

    Another National Bestseller, novel made into a movie, and first published book for the book club to enjoy. Although this novel begins with only one and a half pages of other people's praise, I have heard good things from people who are not on that list, so I look forward to the read. The back promises seamless authenticity in a world filled with virginity is auctioned, beauty paramount, and love is scorned. Well, can't say that I have been to a virginity auction in a while. Enjoy!

  • Everything is Illuminated - Jonathan Safran Foer
    New York Times Best Seller, winner of many, many, many, awards, 3 pages of self hype to start the book off...all on his first try. (This could actually be good or just really pretentious) The first of two novels for author Jonathan Safran Foer, Illuminated follows a young man (also quite randomly named Jonathan Safran Foer...for that is such a common name after all) in search of a woman who may have saved his grandfather from the Nazi's. The cover of the book would lead a reader to believe that along the way Jonathan gets clouds and a blue sky caught in his glasses and falls into a pile of sunflowers...all while wearing his Sunday best....like I said, this could be really good.
